“The part that goes from my hearing aid into my ear broke Mat fixed it in 15 minutes ”
“We were on vacation and the dome came off my hearing aid, and I couldn’t tell if it was in my ear. Got an appointment right away, and MacLain checked the ear canal and then found me a replacement dome. Also, took a look at another pair I had and adjusted them. Very friendly, helpful and efficient.”
“Matt is an outstanding technician. It is immediately apparent that his goal is to service your needs and he goes above and beyond his call of duty. Thank you to Matt and the staff at the Myrtle Beach location.”
“I went to the office in Myrtle Beach and I could not find nicer people in this business. Carolyn was my person to help me and she is fantastic. Becky at the reception desk is a sweetheart. They both made me feel comfortable and made the whole experience great. I can hear things I haven't heard in years. This office and their staff come highly recommended by me and I am a very picky person. Please help yourself to enjoy life better see these people. ”
“Beware! I had a hearing test yesterday through my insurance company. The test was fine, of course done by a technician. It was exactly as I knew. Left ear was worse than the right ear. Word capture on right ear 100%, word capture on left ear 88%. I then sat with Carolyn to discuss. I began by advising her my finances were quite stretched. I am 72 years old and must still work full time. She told me I need 2 aids, My insurance had two models $699 each and $999 each. I of course knew this, as I had done my homework. We discussed the hearing aids. She then went into a "spiel" about her service programs for only $400. If I have trouble paying for an aid how would I pay the extra $400? I asked how much service I would need. Oh, she told me, maybe every two months. She had people who come in every 3 weeks. For tune ups and cleaning and etc. I told her that wasn't my life style. She continued the sales pitch. I then asked her if there was a less expensive aid that I could pay for out of pocket. "Oh no". Okay. I asked her about hearing amplifiers as I used those for my television. "I wouldn't recommend that", they wouldn't benefit me because of background noise. Okay. I asked about, as a start and a help, just an aid for my left ear? "I wouldn't recommend that" , you need two. But if my left ear is worse wouldn't that be a start? "I wouldn't recommend that. If you make me do that I will" If I MAKE her? Makes her free of all concern and liability doesn't it? More discussion. We finished and I asked her for a copy of my test. "No!". Why not? She isn't allowed! Why not? She isn't supposed to. She may be able to after she verifies my information. Then we could talk. She had my information. She had my insurance numbers. I knew she was getting paid. It was my test. I had a right to it. I knew the reason she wouldn't give it to me was because if I had the results I could buy a hearing aid anywhere and she would not be making as much money. That simple. She was not concerned with my quality of life but with her wallet. So to be sure, the next day I called the referral service through my insurance. They assured me I have every right to my test results. They were very disappointed to hear of this sales tactic and said they would be happy to refer me to a different provider. They said, People get one hearing aid all the time" I will not buy from Hearing Health Care and especially not Carolyn because of her lack of concern for me. Her concern is money, period. Be warned of her relentless sales pitch. ”
