Angela “Angie” Wooten, MS, CCC-A, graduated from the University of North Texas in 1977 with a Master’s Degree in audiology. Since then, she has been actively working in the field with patients of all ages. Angie opened Lakeview Hearing Center in 1995 after choosing to leave a large medical group so she could spend more time with her patients. She enjoys getting to know her patients and deeply values the trust that they place in her to help them improve their quality of life. Angie actively pursues continuing education in order to stay on top of the latest technological advances in hearing instruments. She is a member of the Austin Audiology Society, the Texas Academy of Audiology, the Scott Haug Foundation, the American Academy of Audiology and the American Speech Language and Hearing Association. She maintains a Certificate of Clinical Competence with ASHA and a license to practice audiology with the State Committee of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.
Angie has had extensive experience fitting hearing aids to all age groups. She has had several years of experience testing young children for a pediatric otolaryngologist. Children are often referred to Lakeview Hearing Center from area physicians, schools, and the Early Childhood Identification Programs in Central Texas. Lakeview Hearing Center works competently with all age groups.
In her free time, Angie is active in her church, likes to kayak, and plays banjo in the Double Eagle String Band. She is involved in the production of music festivals and is the vice president of Austin Friends of Traditional Music. She also enjoys hanging out with her grandson Torey and her granddaughter Linden.
Kathy Sonnamaker, AuD, CCC-A, completed her Master’s degree in 2001 and received her doctorate in audiology from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2005. Dr. Sonnamaker has worked in many clinical settings and found she particularly enjoys working with adult patients in private practice. The most fulfilling part of her job is building personal relationships with her patients. She is licensed with the State Committee of Examiners in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and has been working in Audiology for over 16 years.
In her free time, Kathy likes exploring the geology and Native American artifacts found in the Hill Country and spending time with her friends, family and pets. She also has a passion for problem solving and discovering “how things work.” She resides in Marble Falls with her wife, tame and feral cats and three Clumber Spaniels.
