Lawrence Grobman


Lawrence earned his Medical Degree and completed his Otolaryngology residency at the University of Miami School of Medicine. He then completed an Otology - Neurotology fellowship at the University of Zurich. Dr. Grobman is board certified in both Otolaryngology and Neurotology. He served as an assistant professor at the University Of Miami School of Medicine, has a faculty appointment at FIU Medical School and has performed lectures for the Audiology doctoral program at Nova Southeastern University. With over 25 years in private practice, he has amassed experience in ear and skull base disorders including Cochlear Implants, Acoustic Neuroma surgery, and treatment of dizziness. Dr. Grobman has been honored with the Best Doctors in America Award since 2000.

Abraham Jaguan


Abraham earned his Medical Degree at the Central University of Caracas, Venezuela and completed his residency in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Minnesota. He is board certified in Otolaryngology. With 15 years experience in private practice, Dr. Jaguan has gathered extensive experience in head and neck surgery, ear surgery for chronic ear infections, cochlear implants, and bone anchored hearing aids in adult and pediatric patients.

Vijaykumar Zaveri


Vijay received his Medical Degree in the K.M. School of Post Graduate Medicine in Ahmedabad, India. He completed his residency in Otolaryngology at Jackson Memorial Hospital, University of Miami School of Medicine. He is board certified in Otolaryngology.

Having spent 18 years working in a private practice, Dr. Zaveri has gathered extensive experience in the evaluation and the treatment of head and neck diseases, including sinus treatment, related allergies and sleep disorders in adult and child patients. He is qualified in cosmetic surgery and sleep disorders.

He has been appointed chief of the ENT Department at the FIU School of Medicine. At the present, Dr. Zaveri is affiliated with prestigious hospitals like the Mercy Hospital, Miami Children’s Hospital, and Bayside Surgical Center.

Eamon McLaughlin


Eamon graduated magna cum laude from the University of Delaware with a degree in Biological Sciences. He received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Medicine and went on to complete Otorhinolaryngology residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

While at Penn he had extensive training in all aspects of otorhinolaryngology and trained with national experts in the fields of chronic sinusitis, thyroid surgery, surgery for obstructive sleep apnea, and pediatric otorhinolaryngology (at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia).

In his free time he enjoys cycling, paddle boarding, and exploring his new home of Miami with his wife and their dog.

Dr. McLaughlin is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Carmen Orta

Au.D., CCC-A

Carmen earned her speech pathology degree in Caracas, Venezuela. Since completing the degree, she has specialized in audiology. In 1997, she earned her hearing aid dispenser license in Florida. Before joining the team at Greater Miami Audiology, she owned a hearing aid practice in Kissimmee, Fla. In April, 2010 Dr. Orta graduated with honors, earning her Doctorate of Audiology from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Orta performs hearing and balance evaluations, tinnitus assessment and treatment, cochlear implant evaluations and programming and hearing aid dispensing.

Connie Cabeza


Connie has been practicing Audiology at Miami Hearing and Speech Center for over 25 years. She graduated with a Master’s of Arts in Audiology from the University of Tennessee and received her doctorate degree from the University of Florida. She has been dispensing hearing aids since the law allowed audiologists to dispense hearing aids in the early 1980’s. This was a significant change for audiologists, which allowed them to have long term relationships with their patients.

Her expertise lies not only with fitting amplification, but evaluating and treating patients with tinnitus and hyperacusis. Through counseling and sometimes sound devices, patients are able to return to a normal life. Connie is board certified in Audiology. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology, has a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is involved in the American Tinnitus Association.

Sebastian de la Calle


Sebastian has extensive knowledge in hearing aid technology and effective rehabilitation for hearing loss and tinnitus. An accomplished musician himself, Dr. de la Calle cares about hearing naturally and provides his patients with a smooth transition into the world of amplification. He is known as a people-person, is fluent in Spanish, Hebrew and English, is passionate about music, life, and travel, and always takes time to know his patients well and accommodate their hearing needs.

Licensed Florida Audiologist, American Speech-Language- Hearing Association member, completed a Doctorate in Clinical Audiology from the University of Florida and a Bachelor of Science in Music Engineering from the University of Miami. While at the University of Florida, Sebastian worked as part of a research team that studied how to combat temporary and permanent hearing loss after exposure to loud noises. Additionally, he provided hearing and health care to underserved populations in Yucatan Mexico, along with other Audiology and Pharmacy students for 3 consecutive years. Dr. de la Calle completed his residency at the Miami Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), delivering first-hand auditory and balance care to veterans of the US military. He then worked at the Brainchild Institute as a full-time pediatric Audiologist until joining the Greater Miami Audiology family.

Ismaly Lorenzo


Ismaly earned her Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.) at University of Puerto Rico- Medical Science Campus in San Juan, Puerto Rico.  She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (F-AAA) and holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Dr. Lorenzo joined our practice following graduation. She performs audiometric, electrophysiological, and vestibular evaluations as well as rehabilitation of hearing loss through activation and programming of cochlear implants.

Julie Nieda


Julie Nieda is Greater Miami Audiology’s practice manager and a licensed hearing aid specialist. She has more than 25 years of practice management experience in the field of hearing healthcare. Seeing the great benefits people receive from improving their hearing, she was inspired to work more directly with patients and earned her hearing aid specialist license in 2013. Julie is a member of the International Hearing Society and the Florida Society of Hearing Healthcare Professionals. She is passionate about ensuring that every patient receives exceptional care.

She phenomenal, wonderful person & doctor. the whole staff is very professional caring & attentive to your needs. I highly recommend this group..
