SPIRA flex employs an open ear design. The circuitry is contained in a BTE (behind-the-ear) device. Connected to the BTE unit is SPIRA flex plastic tubing, directing the sound into the wearers ear canal. This open ear design allows the wearer to use whatever available hearing s/he has, producing a more natural sound and a more comfortable wearing experience.
