Dr. Eric Hecker has worked for Dr. Hecker & Associates, Audiology, since 1985 and has been a Clinical Audiologist with the practice since 1988. Dr. Hecker earned his Bachelor's degree in Biology from Virginia Tech, his master's degree in Audiology from the University of Virginia and his Ph.D. in Audiology from UVA.. The emphasis of his doctoral studies was auditory neurophysiology. He is certified in Audiology by the American Speech and Hearing Association and holds Virginia state licensure for Audiology and hearing aid dispensing.
He is currently President of the corporation with locations in Newport News, Williamsburg and Hampton, Virginia. His primary areas of specialty include electrophysiological evaluation, auditory rehabilitation with an emphasis on digital hearing aids, and working within the industry to establish and maintain Hearing Conservation Programs.
Dr. Hecker and Associates was the first private Audiology practice in Virginia, established in 1974 by Dr. Henry Hecker.
For over 38 years, Dr. Hecker and Associates has been helping people throughout Newport News and the surrounding areas to improve the quality of their lives through better hearing. Our team of expert Audiologists are known for providing the most comprehensive hearing treatment plans in the area.
The practice has been at the cutting edge of technology since its inception, being the first practice in Virginia to perform ENG evaluations to help diagnose balance disorders and the first to fit digital hearing aids. In addition to utilizing the latest technology to diagnose and treat hearing disorders, Dr. Hecker and Associates prides themselves on their patient centered approach.

Our expert staff at Dr. Hecker & Associates provides services that include basic behavioral tests and sophisticated computerized otoneurological evaluations. When appropriate, the latest digital hearing aids may be utilized to help compensate for hearing loss. If hearing loss is suspected, an appointment with one of our certified Audiologists should be made for the purposes of testing and evaluation.
