Spencer came to Texas from Utah to get his Au.D. at Texas Tech University. After graduating in 2009, he and his family moved to Waco, Texas.
Lauren was born and raised in Texas. After completing her doctorate at the University of Texas at Dallas, she moved to Waco, Texas to work for Waco Ear, Nose and Throat.
