

Ashley M. Windsor is a Central Texas native, raised by her hearing impaired grandparents. During her childhood, she developed an interest in communication and a love for the elderly. As a student, she excelled in school, became fluent in American Sign Language, and graduated distinguished. While pursuing her career as an interpreter for the deaf, she met the Taylor’s of the San Antonio Hearing Center. Inspired by their mission, she joined their team to help the hearing impaired to hear again. Ashley has a continuous thirst for knowledge and is a member of the International Hearing Society. As a licensed hearing instrument specialist, she is very professional, patient, and passionate about helping.
Hearing Tests: * Hearing Screenings * Comprehensive Hearing Evaluations * Tympanometry * Acoustic Reflex * Tone Decay * Evoked Otoacoustic Emissions Tinnitus & Hyperacousis Tests: * Loudness and Pitch Matching * Minimum Masking Levels * Residual Inhibition * Loudness Discomfort Levels Audiological Evaluations Among the many diagnostic tests offered at the center are audiograms for determining basic hearing ability and word recognition, middle ear analysis for evaluating the mechanical functioning of the eardrum and bones of the middle ear, and special tests to identify abnormalities in the auditory pathway. These tests are helpful in diagnosis and treatment of hearing loss, tinnitus, eardrum or middle ear bone problems, acoustic tumors, multiple sclerosis, central auditory processing abnormalities, and Meniere's disease. Aural Rehabilitation Another important aspect of the San Antonio Hearing Centers's audiology services is its aural rehabilitation program for people with hearing impairments. For new patients, staff test a variety of hearing aids and assistive listening devices to determine those best suited to the patient's needs. The center has extensive experience fitting and dispensing hearing aids of all types and maintains a variety of brands. For those already wearing hearing aids, the center provides timely maintenance and repair services. An advantage of offering these services at the center is that immediate physician input can be offered for such problems as ear wax, ear infections, and progressive hearing loss, tinnitus, or vertigo.
