Max McCarthy

MA, CCC-A, FAAA

Max is the owner/president of Hearing Systems, Inc., as well as a licensed Audiologist specializing in Rehabilitation Audiology. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Communicative Disorders and Psychology in 1978, and went on to complete his Master's Degree in Audiology in 1981, all at the State University of New York at Buffalo. While at the University of Buffalo, he worked for a year at the Buffalo Philharmonic orchestra on Project Hearing Electronics Arts Research (H.E.A.R.) using Assistive Listening Devices in large auditoriums with the Performing Arts (FM, Infrared and Loop Systems). He came to Houston in 1981 and worked for a year and a half as the staff audiologist with the U.T. Medical School Ear, Nose, and Throat Department in the Texas Medical Center. From there he began and developed the Audiology Service for Cypress-Fairbanks ISD and the Northwest Cooperative for Education of the Deaf (seven school districts). In 1982 he started Hearing Systems, which grew into a full time firm specializing in Assistive Technology for the Deaf and Hearing Impaired. Hearing Systems is fully staffed under Mr. McCarthy's direction to provide consultation, sales, service, hearing aids and all types of equipment which allows complete accessibility for persons with impaired hearing. We work extensively with the Department of Rehabilitative Services (DRS, DBS, and DHHS), Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA), and several other area organizations concerned with the hearing impaired.
