
ACADEMIC PROGRAMS: The UT Dallas Callier Center supports the nationally ranked academic programs in the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences that prepare students to fill the need for qualified professionals in the fields of speech-language pathology and audiology. Research and clinical education at the Callier Center are an integral part of the academic experiences provided to students interested in communicatively impaired populations. CHILD DEVELOPMENT AND DEAF EDUCATION: The Callier Child Development Program provides a warm, accepting environment, rich in learning activities and experiences. Teachers value each child as unique and facilitate growth toward independence, self-esteem and concern for others. We provide early education services for children ages infant through five years. Accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the program encompasses both tuition-based child development and public school deaf education. CLINIC: For every person we treat, our experienced, licensed and certified clinicians provide a unique and individualized plan of care. Our skilled clinical staff and faculty experts are nationally recognized and work closely with children and adults to develop and strengthen their communication skills. We provide a compassionate, family-centered care environment to help our patients communicate successfully in their homes, at school and in the community. Autism and Spectrum Disorders: The nationally recognized UT Dallas Callier Center for Communication Disorders has provided group and individual therapy for patients and families touched by autism for more than 30 years. Our skilled clinical staff and faculty experts are nationally recognized and work closely with children and families to develop and strengthen their communication skills. Our innovative programming is designed to reflect current knowledge in the area of ASD, as well as the individual needs of each child or adult. The Crystal Charity Ball Autism Project provides a range of services – including a parent and child music group - for children of all ages who have been diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or who may be showing signs of an ASD. Cochlear Implant: Our outstanding staff is extensively trained and very knowledgeable in providing candidacy information, evaluations, and follow-up services after surgery for pediatric cochlear implant recipients. Hearing Services: Licensed and certified audiologists at the nationally recognized UT Dallas Callier Center for Communication Disorders perform comprehensive evaluations, including diagnosis and recommendations for individuals of all ages. Audiology staff assist people with suspected hearing problems and dispense advanced hearing instruments to meet the needs of those with permanent hearing loss. Many other excellent hearing rehabilitation services are offered to preserve and prevent future hearing problems, in addition to improve faulty communication caused by hearing loss. The Callier Center solicits the donation of new and used hearing aids and other amplification devices for use by people with hearing loss.' Speech and Language: For more than 40 years, the UT Dallas Callier Center for Communication Disorders has been a leader in providing in-depth, advanced evaluations and innovative treatments for patients across the lifespan with a wide variety of speech, language and feeding/swallowing disorders. For every person we treat, our experienced, licensed and certified speech-language pathologists provide a unique and individualized plan of care. Our goal is to provide a compassionate, family-centered care environment to help our patients communicate successfully in their home, at school and in the community.
