Offering Options and Solutions For Your Hearing Concerns
Audiologist Mary Gamble has been with the practice for over 7 years and has over 12 years of experience in the field. She enjoys working with patients of all ages and loves helping her patients reconnect with the special people in their lives through better hearing abilities. Mary also enjoys educating local musicians and music lovers to help prevent noise induced hearing loss from musical performances. Mary decided to pursue a career in Audiology after witnessing firsthand the profound effects of her father's hearing loss. She attended the University of Iowa for her undergraduate training and completed her graduate training at the University of Memphis. She then went to the House Ear Institute in Los Angeles for her clinical fellowship. Mary is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology, a member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association, an Adjunct Faculty member of the University of Texas at Dallas and enjoys furthering the profession by mentoring Audiology doctoral students in local programs. Mary is married with two sons and enjoys mountain biking and traveling in her spare time.
Audiologist Margot Steffenhagen has been with NTHC since the spring of 2011. She attended the University of Oklahoma for her Bachelors in Communication Disorders and Idaho State University for her Masters degree in Audiology. Margot was awarded her Certificate of Clinical Competence in 1994 and has been a member in good standing of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association since that time. She spent most of her working career in the Pacific Northwest with Veterans Affairs. Margot relates firsthand with many of her hearing impaired patients having had 2 episodes of sudden hearing loss herself. She has worn hearing aids for over a year and is a strong supporter of Bluetooth technology and other assistive listening devices. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, amateur investing, taking walks with her husband, playing volleyball and throwing the baseball around with her kids.

At North Texas Hearing Consultants, we offer complete hearing care services:
Complete hearing aid services - This is an area where our practice truly shines. We take a lot of time upfront to determine exactly where you are having difficulties hearing and understanding. We then review the hearing solutions available to you and provide comprehensive counseling on what you can expect during the hearing aid fitting and each week after. The audiologist ensures that the hearing aids fit comfortable and appropriately in your ears during the hearing aid fitting appointment and also sets the hearing aid for the optimal acoustic performance. Successful use of hearing aids requires time for your brain to adjust to the new information it is receiving so we will see you back each week for about 3 weeks to make sure the aids are still set correctly and that you are achieving maximal results. Once that point is reached, we perform objective measurement in both quiet and noisy environments to ensure that you are hearing as well as you should. After that, you will return for a check-up every 6 months to ensure appropriate functioning of the hearing aids, perform deep cleanings, evaluate your ear canal, and answer any questions you may have. We take the time to make sure you are hearing and understanding to the utmost of your ability.
