Located on The University of Tennessee campus in Neyland Stadium, UT Hearing Center was founded in 1953 along with the Speech Center to meet the needs of children and adults with speech, language, and hearing problems. UT Hearing Center functions as an educational facility as well as a service provider within the Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology.
The Hearing Center provides diagnostic and treatment services for children, adolescents, and adults who have hearing impairment. The clinical services are provided by doctoral students under the supervision of highly qualified Doctors of Audiology who also hold certification awarded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Dr. Humphrey specializes in diagnostic audiology and amplification for both pediatric and adult populations, cochlear implant programming, and auditory processing evaluations
Dr. Yeager primarily serves birth to age 21 including, infant hearing screenings / electrophysiological diagnostic evaluations, audiological behavioral diagnostic evaluations, hearing aid/ FM evaluations/fittings, cochlear implant mapping and family support/education.
Dr. Plyler serves pediatric patients birth through 21 years old. Specializing in pediatric diagnostics, amplification (hearing aids and FM systems) and auditory processing evaluations
Dr. Schay specializes in adult diagnostic & amplification services, auditory electrophysiological assessment and vestibular assessment
Dr. Doettl specializes in vestibular evaluation and treatment, auditory and vestibular electrophysiological assessment, diagnostic evaluation and amplification for the adult population
Dr. Hausladen specializes in adult diagnostic evaluation and amplification services
