Dr. Stewart has been an audiologist since 1997. She worked for 9 years in a large Ear, Nose and Throat office, acting not only as a staff audiologist but also as the Director of Audiology for 5 years. Working in a large ENT physician's office has given Dr. Stewart a unique perspective when it comes to treating her patients. A patient is always evaluated for medical problems first, the results are reviewed with the patient and then follow up recommendations are made. They may include the use of sound plugs, 6 or 12 month re evaluation, hearing instruments and/or assistive listening device(s).
There are many different hearing instruments available. The two major components to consider is the style (the way it looks on your ear) and the technology (they way it works or sounds). At South County Hearing we believe the technology a patient should wear has mainly to do with their life style. If a patient has a more active life style and finds themselves in a variety of listening situations then they should consider purchasing devices that are as high in technology as they are comfortable affording. If a patient has a quieter lifestyle, only going out to eat occasionally and having conversations with only one or two people at a time, then they will be very well served with an entry-level or middle of the road technology. The cost for two hearing instruments ranges in pricing from approximately $1600 to $6000.All hearing instruments come with a 2 year repair and loss/damage policy as well as one year of follow up at no charge. As it is our goal to provide patients with their best possible hearing at the most reasonable pricing we do not include gimmicks such as life time of follow up visits or lifetime batteries.
