These are diagnostic medical tests, usually covered by health insurance, and are conducted only by audiologists. Diagnostic audiometric tests should not be confused with the free hearing tests that other facilities use as a sales tool to generate office traffic for hearing aid fittings. The Audiogram The audiogram is simply a graph of your test results. The o represents results from you right ear; the x represents your left. Pitch or tone rises as you move from left to right. More volume is necessary for you to hear tones the farther down the audiogram the x's and o's are placed. top Hearing aids are programmed on a computer for fine tuning. We continually update our skills on the latest hearing aid developments. There are many factors that go into determining which hearing aid is best for you. And there are many features available to help you hear the best you can in a variety of listening situations. Your audiologist will discuss your unique hearing loss, needs and concerns in order to determine which hearing aid model and make will work best for you.
