We are delighted when a patient comes to our office having done some 'homework'. Whether it is confering with your physician, talking with one of our patients, or simply browsing our website, we encourage our patients to be informed so that we can work together as a team meeting your hearing healthcare needs. We will spend as much time as is necessary to answer your questions and make you feel confident in your decision to allow us the opportunity to work with you or your family member.
Upper Valley Hearing & Balance, Inc. is Troy's only full service audiology practice. Drs. Rudy and Lins offer a combined history of over 40 years practicing audiology in the greater Miami Valley community. We provide comprehensive hearing care including hearing assessments, rehabilitation, education, and counseling. We also fit and dispense the lastest technologically-advanced hearing instruments and related devices to suit all types of hearing loss and life styles. All hearing aids are fitted on a trial basis to insure your complete satisfaction before purchase.
Due to the ever-expanding needs of our patients, we recently moved to a much larger and beautifully-renovated office located at Stanfield Place, 31 Stanfield Road, Troy, OH. This allows us more direct access to local physicians, including ear surgeons. In doing so we have added complete diagnostic balance services with treatment available on-site. This makes our center Miami County's only comprehensive vestibular program, including medical, diagnostic and rehabilitative intervention under one roof.
Services
Audiologic care is the protection, preservation, evaluation, and treatment of hearing and balance funtions of the human audio-vestibular system, and is provided only by Audiologists, either individually or as part of a health care team. The goal of the Audiologist is to use her professional skills to improve the quality of life for each patient.
At Upper Valley Hearing & Balance, Inc., we strive to provide our patients with quality, state-of-the-art audiological services while maintaining a caring and family-friendly patient atmosphere.
We continue to expand our scope of practice as technology moves forward and are able to offer a wide range of services related to the diagnosis and rehabilitation of the audiotory and vestibular systems.
•Diagnostic Services: Includes careful hearing and health history, physical examination of the ears, and hearing evaluation. Additional testing will be determined based on the individual needs of each patient, and may include Tympanometry (to assess middle ear function), Otoacoustic Emission testing (an objective test of inner ear function), Videonystagmography (for assessment of balance disorders), or Auditory Brainstem Response (objective measure of auditory function).
•Hearing Aids: Recommendations will be based on the results of your evaluation, as well as assessment of your communication needs. We dispense all levels of digital hearing aid technology and other assistive devices, and pride ourselves on staying current as new products are introduced. By keeping advertising to a minimum, we are proud to be able to offer a "best price" promise on all products.
•Assistive Technology: Sometimes hearing aids alone are not enough. We will carefully assess your individual situation, and if appropriate, make recommendations for Bluetooth adaptors, TV or phone amplifiers, or other assistive devices.
•Custom earmolds: Swim plugs, custom fit hearing protection, and musicians in-ear monitors are available, as well as the hugely popular custom fit iPod and MP3 earmolds.
