Sound Field testing: a series of one-syllable words presented at normal conversation volume measuring your initial speech discrimination ability. Air Conduction testing: a series of tones at different volumes and frequencies, testing how well the outer, middle and inner ear are working together. Bone Conduction testing: a series of tones at different volumes and frequencies, bypassing the outer and middle ear to test cochlear response (inner ear). Speech discrimination testing: a series of amplified one-syllable words measuring your speech discrimination potential. We then discuss your most difficult listening environments, the environments that give you the most trouble when you desire to hear others speak clearly. Finally, if your hearing loss is one that can be helped, we will discuss possible solutions offered by a variety of hearing instruments.
