The Delaware Speech and Hearing Center is the only local Agency that has consistently met the standards set forth by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) since 1959 and is licensed to provide the full range of speech pathology and Audiology services including the identification, assessment and treatment of speech, language, hearing and balancing disorders. The Delaware Speech and Hearing Center is a non-profit United Way Agency that is governed by a Board of Directors. Each year the Center delivers more than 16,000 half-hour units of service to individuals with speech, language, hearing, balancing and swallowing disorders.

In 1959 the Delaware City-County Speech and Hearing Center was founded. The Center began providing testing and basic services at the local health department 25 hours per week. At that time, only six cities within the state of Ohio had speech and hearing centers in operation. Today, we employ 3 Audiologists and 6 Speech-Language Pathologists. Last year we saw more than 500 new patients. Our patient surveys reflect our outstanding customer service and satisfaction. In addition to our pediatric and adult diagnostic services, we provide a full range of hearing aid services including recommendation, fitting and follow up, and repair. We offer state of the art products and services, including real-ear verification and comprehensive hearing healthcare. For Delaware County residents in need of financial assistance, we offer fee adjustments for those who qualify.
