“Best hearing test I ever had. Everything was explained to me so clearly. I was very pleased with the "facility". I recommend this place! I love my new "hearing aids" and now I don't miss anything that's being said.”

“We went there to waste time and waste gas - they tested his hearing and they wanted to give him a hearing aid like the one he had before but I wanted him to get a different kind like I had seen on TV but they said he couldn't manage that kind because of his age - he is 95 years old.”

Official Response from Hearing Services:
“Thank you for sharing your concern and allowing us to respond to it. We are very sorry that you had a particular hearing aid in mind for your father and we were unable to fit him with that type of aid. We gave your father a loaner hearing aid to use when he traveled to Florida for several days. Many times, people see advertisements for a specific hearing aids -often tiny "invisible" aids that fit deeply into the ear canal- and think that those hearing aids would be an improvement over what they have. For some people they are, but unfortunately that type of aid is generally only appropriate for people whose hearing loss fails within a very limited range and who have excellent manual dexterity. We have worked with thousands of patients of all ages and we know that when a patient has reduced manual dexterity and a severe hearing loss, a different, larger type of hearing aid usually works better for them. We understand that it can be frustrating to have a specific product in mind for a loved one and then be told that he is not a good candidate for that product. However, selling someone a hearing aid that is not powerful enough to help their hearing or that they cannot insert and therefore will not wear is something we cannot condone. At Hearing Services, our number one priority is that each patient be fit with the hearing aid that will work best for their hearing loss and their physical ability. We invite you to make an appointment for your father to come back in and see us so we can explain all this further. Thank you, Dr. Sandy Colonna ”
