If you purchased a hearing aid through BHSC's Hearing Aid Dispensing Program, the Adjusting to Amplification Group Session is offered at no charge. If you purchased your hearing aid elsewhere, there is a small fee for the session. Hearing loss and aural rehabilitation may be made easier when family members are involved. You are welcome to bring a family member or a person you think may be helpful in your adaptation to hearing aids at no charge. Speechreading Classes Most people with a hearing loss already speechread naturally to some extent. They begin to use their eyes to help their ears understand. You can improve your natural speechreading abilities by attending classes which will teach you to associate different lip shapes with particular sounds. You will also be taught to look at the speaker's expressions, gestures, posture and body language.
