

RITA LORENTZ, AuD, has been an Audiologist for over 30 years. After earning a Master’s degree from Hofstra University, she worked for a time at St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson and in a busy ENT office in Smithtown. In order to better serve the Smithtown community, she began providing audiology services and dispensing hearing aids, resulting in the founding of Smithtown Hearing Services in 1996. With the constant advances in hearing aid technology, Dr. Lorentz has kept current in her field by attending continuing education classes and has recently earned her Doctorate in Audiology from A.T. Still University. In March of 2000, she merged her practice with Paul Esposito’s North Shore Audiology. Dr. Lorentz has a Certification of Clinical Competence in Audiology from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association, is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and a member of the Long Island Speech and Hearing Association. She is also an Adjunct Professor of Audiology at St. Joseph’s College in Patchogue, NY
PAUL ESPOSITO, AuD, is an audiologist that has been providing Audiological and hearing aid services to the Long Island community since 1980. He earned a B.A. degree in Speech and Hearing at Brooklyn College and his Masters at the University of Connecticut. Following five years as an Audiologist at St. Charles Hospital, Dr. Esposito established North Shore Audiology in Port Jefferson. At that location, he provided hearing testing to populations aged from infant to adult. In addition, he initiated a successful hearing aid dispensing practice which provided the most current hearing aid technology to a wide variety of patients. In 2000, Dr. Esposito partnered with Rita Lorentz in the already established Smithtown Hearing Services. Dr. Esposito is a member of the American Speech Language and Hearing Association, a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and is a long standing Executive Board Member of the Long Island Speech and Hearing Association. He has earned three ASHA ACE awards and has been named a Scholar in AAA for his continuing education activities. Dr. Esposito is an Adjunct Professor at St. Joseph's College in Patchogue, NY
BRANDI SINGARAM, AuD, joined the SHS staff of audiologists in July, 2002. Dr. Singaram also works for the Board of Education of the City of New York as an Audiologist specializing in the recommendation and dispensing of hearing aids and assistive listening devices to school children. She earned her Master’s degree from St. John’s University and her Doctorate of Audiology from A.T. Still University. Dr. Singaram is a consultant to the Speech & Hearing Center at Marymount College. She also holds a Certification of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association.
