“I went there and an exam was administered. I was told that I needed a hearing aid - no surprise. But frankly, I regarded the audiologist as a hearing aid salesman. I know my hearing is different in the left and right ear. He never discussed that, he just said here's what we have available in the hearing aid line and you need it. My hearing's not that bad and I decided not to pursue it. He was there to sell me a hearing aid, period. He made no attempt to distinguish the hearing loss in one ear from the other.”
Official Response from Sayville Hearing Services:“We are sorry that you had a negative experience. At Sayville Hearing Service we pride ourselves on quality care and service and finding the appropriate and personalized solution to individual hearing problems. After each evaluation the results of the hearing test are discussed in detail with the patient and hearing aid options are presented at that time. Recommendations based on hearing loss are made with sensitivity to lifestyle and budget. If the audiogram as it was explained to you was unclear, we would be happy to review it with you in person or over the phone without any obligation to purchase. Of course, your audiogram is part of your personal medical record and you may obtain a copy by just calling the office. Whether through SHS or elsewhere, good luck in finding the appropriate hearing solution for you.”
“ I just bought new hearing aids. I also purchased the telephone. What a great addition to my hearing aids, THE TELEPHONE.. I could hear so clearly, That when I was listening to get a confirmation number I felt so confident on hearing the numbers, I did not even ask the operator to repeat. Thank you SAYVILLE HEARING SERVICES”
“She was very understanding of my age and she explained everything to me very well. ”
“I thought she was thorough. I was very pleased, it was local and I hope they do well. ”
“I went with my father. He was examined for new hearing aids, which they went ahead and ordered. They knew going in that he had insurance we were made to believe that there would be no problems having the insurance pay for the hearing aids. They called and they had said they were trying to straighten out a problem with the insurance. I called the insurance company and they said there was no problem. They haven't called me back to let me know if it was settled. We arrived on Saturday morning, my father who is 101 years old, plus his caretaker and myself - they set up the hearing aids and all of a sudden we find out that there's still a problem because they haven't settled the issue with the insurance. So it was a waste of a trip and they still haven't called me back to tell me what is the problem. If I don't get an answer, I am going to call the insurance company and make a complaint. ”
