Angela Loavenbruck has been in private practice in New City, New York since 1975 and is widely known for her expertise in evaluating and fitting hearing instruments. Dr. Loavenbruck has served on numerous professional committees, including national audiology standards councils and ethical practice boards. With Jane Madell, she published Hearing Aid Dispensing for Audiologists – A Guide for Clinical Practice – the first textbook on hearing instrument dispensing for audiologists. Dr. Loavenbruck served two terms as president of the New York State Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NYSSLHA) and received the Distinguished Service Award in 1997. She was also awarded the Joel Wernicke Award by the Academy of Doctors of Audiology (ADA) for her work on behalf of audiology education. Dr. Loavenbruck was president of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) from 2002-2003. The current Code of Ethics was developed during her presidency and she has spoken widely about the necessity for a strong audiology Code of Ethics. She served as chair of the Accreditation Council for Audiology Education, and currently serves on the ACAE board and the AAA Foundation Board. Dr. Loavenbruck has been Associate Professor of Audiology at Teachers College, Columbia University. She has been an invited speaker on hearing instrument evaluation and fitting issues at conferences throughout the country.

Jeffrey Shannon was born and raised in Frewsburg, a small town in upstate western New York. After receiving his Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering in 2001 from the University of Dayton in Ohio, he worked as an engineer and science teacher. Dr. Shannon returned to school and earned his Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D) from the University of Louisville in Kentucky. He began his career at the VA National Center for Rehabilitative Auditory Research in Portland, Oregon, where he helped develop and improve diagnostic testing, treatment devices, and management services for veterans with hearing loss, tinnitus (ringing in the ears), and auditory processing problems. Upon returning to NY, Dr. Shannon has joined Dr. Angela Loavenbruck at Hudson Valley Audiology Center with the intent of providing the best possible hearing healthcare to his patients and the surrounding community. Dr. Shannon is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA), holding two national committee positions. Both he and Dr. Loavenbruck are members of AudigyGroup, a highly prestigious, carefully selected group of independent private practice audiologists from around the country. Dr. Shannon is a member of the New York Academy of Audiology and the New York State Speech-Language-Hearing Association. He and his wife Erin, a Speech-Language Pathologist in the Nyack Public School System, currently live in Nyack, NY.
