Doctor of Audiology Lori Trentacoste earned her Master’s degree from the University of Buffalo and her Doctorate in Audiology from the Arizona School of Health Sciences. Lori is Board Certified in Audiology (ABA) and has been a part of Island Better Hearing since her father, Bob Trentacoste, began the practice back in 1972.
Lori has been actively involved in many professional organizations locally and nationally such as the ADA, ASHA, LISHA, ABA, etc. Lori works with other local agencies which includes the County Early Intervention program and the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation. She is on the Board of Directors for the Hearing Care Group, a local agency of Audiologists/Practice Owners who work to increase consumer awareness to Hearing loss and current trends in hearing aid technology.
Lori consults with several school districts, including Huntington, S. Huntington, Kings Park, Deer Park, Half Hollow Hills, Commack and Western Suffolk BOCES Student Adjustment Center. She is responsible for educating staff and personnel about hearing loss and technology. Lori conducts testing of the school children to determine educational needs and works with the teachers to improve the classroom environment for ease in learning.
Doctor of Audiology Tracey Lynch earned her Bachelor of Sciences degree in Communicative Sciences from the University of Maryland, her Masters of Science degree from Hunter College, CUNY and her Clinical Doctorate in Audiology from Salus University. She holds state licensure as an audiologist and hearing aid dispenser in New York and a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology from the American Speech Language Hearing Association. She specializes in the latest digital hearing aid technology for all types of hearing losses.
Dr. Lynch lives on the north shore of Long Island with her family and enjoys cooking and spending time with family and friends.
Doctor of Audiology Tara Mazzone earned her B.A. from Queens College, her M.S. from Adelphi University and her Doctorate in Audiology. She has been a part of the Island Better Hearing team since 2001. She works with patients of all ages and has been an active member of the American Speech Language Hearing Association since 2000. She is also Board Certified and licensed with NY State as a practicing Audiologist and Hearing Aid Dispenser.

Island Better Hearing offers a complete line of conventional, programmable and digital hearing aids for our patients as well as providing complete service and repair.
In addition to performing hearing tests and dispensing hearing aids, we assist with recommendations regarding other devices to help patients better hear telephone and television conversation. We also custom fit water protection ear plugs for patients prone to infection, and sound protection plugs for musicians, hunters and others regularly exposed to damaging sound levels.
