Our Services Our expert staff of AudigyCertified™ professionals provide services to those from newborn to over a hundred years old. These include basic behavioral tests and sophisticated computerized otoneurological evaluations. When appropriate, the latest digital hearing instruments may be utilized to help compensate for a hearing impairment. For individuals who work in high noise areas, we administer Hearing Conservation Programs in accordance to OSHA guidelines. ENG Test - Electronystagmogram The ENG test is probably one of the most useful tests to diagnose dizzy complaints in which other obvious causes such as ear infection, head injury or certain medication side effects are not involved. The ENG is a series of tests designed to evaluate the inner-ear's vestibular mechanism. This test electronically determines the responses of the balance mechanisms of the vestibular system. These responses are expressed through eye movements which are recorded by electrodes applied to the skin of the face. This test is performed at our offices. There are also some prior test instructions, please call us for any additional information. Tinnitus Evaluation and Treatment Tinnitus is a medical condition characterized by persistent ringing in one or both ears which generally can only be heard by the affected individual. It has also been described as whistling, hissing, buzzing, or pulsing in the ear. These sounds may come and go; however, most sufferers experience symptoms 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The effects range from a slight annoyance to a severe disruption of everyday life. The American Tinnitus Association estimates that over 50 million Americans suffer from tinnitus. In fact, tinnitus is the #1 complaint from United States Veterans and grows at 18% per year. Causes of tinnitus are varied and the condition is typically accompanied by hearing loss. A tinnitus evaluation will suggest possible causes and the most appropriate treatment solution. Although there is no cure for tinnitus, Anderson Audiology professionals are experienced at providing individual solutions on a case by case basis. If you are bothered by noises in your ears, please schedule an appointment to evaluate for possible causes and discuss treatment solutions today. Comprehensive Diagnostic Testing: Anderson Audiology offers the most complete and comprehensive audiometric evaluations in a calibrated sound proof suite. The evaluation provides evidence regarding how the outer, middle and inner ear functions. A primary purpose of this test is to provide clearer insight to communication difficulties consequently due to the nature and degree of hearing loss. Only when this is accomplished can the most appropriate treatment option be recommended and the quality of life enhanced through better hearing.
