Though Mrs. Payne wasn't born in New Mexico, she still considers herself a native. She has lived in Roswell, most of her life and graduated from Goddard High School. She is an alumna of Eastern New Mexico University - Roswell where she received her Associates in General Sciences. ​She and her husband have one daughter. Mrs. Payne's parents, Randy and Elsie Reeves, also live in Roswell and pastor a local church, Washington Ave. Fellowship.

Dr. Gonzalez Rodriguez was born and raised in Roswell. She graduated from Texas Tech University  Health Sciences Center with her Doctorate in Audiology. She received her Bachelor’s in Communication graduating Cum Laude. During her college education, she was a member of the National Society for Collegiate Scholars, the National Association of Future Doctors of Audiology (NAFDA) now known as SAA, and made the Dean's list. Dr. Gonzalez Rodriguez and her husband have two "four-legged" children; their Siberian Husky, Aiyana, and their Chi-Poo, Shelby.
