Licensed doctor of audiology Lauren McGivern is an Ohio native who came to us from the Cleveland Clinic. She earned her undergraduate degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Cincinnati and her Doctorate in Audiology from the Northeast Ohio Au.D. Consortium. She also has specialty certification in Gerontology, although she truly enjoys working with individuals of all ages.
Dr. McGivern runs the New Bern practice. Due to her life-long hearing loss and wearing hearing instruments herself, she offers a unique perspective in working with individuals who are having communication difficulties as a result of a hearing loss and/or tinnitus ("ringing" in the ears). She personally experiences the importance of adequate hearing and understanding on a daily basis. Her goal is to be a proactive audiologist in this community to help others' and their loved ones find the best way to cope with hearing challenges.
Dr. McGivern resides in New Bern and enjoys many community activities this town has to offer.
