Walt Hopkins, BC-HIS, entered the field of testing hearing and fitting/dispensing hearing instruments in 1981, when he became licensed by the Montana Board of Hearing Aid Dispensers. In 1990, Walt also became Board Certified in hearing Instrument Sciences by the International Hearing Society. Governor Stan Stephens appointed Walt to a seat on the Montana Board of hearing Aid Dispensers in July of 1990, where he served for 3 1/2 years as chairman. Governor Racicot re-appointed him to a second consecutive term, again as chairman, where he continued to serve both the hearing impaired population of Montana and licensed hearing aid dispensers. Walt has also been a Clinically Certified Hypnotherapist for over 14 years. Clinical hypnotherapy has recently been successfully applied to help hearing impaired patients that suffer from tinnitus (ringing in the ears). Walt joined the staff at The Hearing Place in November 2010 and has been an asset to the team ever since. During his spare time, Walt enjoys whitewater kayaking, fishing, good food, and reading about and discussing philosophy and psychology.
Pat Fournier, the President of The Hearing Place, has been a hearing aid practitioner since 1988. He has fit thousands of people with hearing instruments over the past 20 years, and he is sincerely inspired by his clientele. He has BC-HIS Board Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences and is a member of the Acoustical Society of America. He has been President of the Montana Hearing Society for the past 6 years, and he is very active at the state level in certification issues, to protect consumers and validate practitioners. He has a wife and three children and lives in Great Falls. In his spare time, he enjoys Angels baseball games and lots of fishing the rivers around the state.
