Ms. Boyd received her BS degree from Montclair State College and her MS in Audiology from Columbia University. Ms. Boyd started her career at St. Barnabus Medical Center in Livingston, NJ, where she established the Vestibular Lab. She was a member of their Cleft Palate Team and worked with children with auditory processing disorders.
Upon moving to the DC area Ms. Boyd practiced at both the Washington Hospital Center and Suburban Hospital where she performed many duties including: newborn hearing screenings, intraoperative monitoring, and diagnostic assessments for head trauma victims and stroke patients. Ms. Boyd has an extensive clinical background in hearing aid dispensing.
Ms. Boyd is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and was nationally certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She maintains a current license from the Maryland Board of Examiners for Audiologists.
In her spare time Ms. Boyd enjoys gourmet cooking and baking. She resides in Derwood, MD with her husband and has two sons.
Ms. Karen Corkery received her BA degree from the University of Maryland, and her M.Ed in Audiology from James Madison University. She began working with a local Neuro-otologist and established a hearing aid dispensing practice in the office.
Ms. Corkery has extensive experience with pediatrics as the former Supervisor of the Newborn Hearing Screening program at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital for 10 years, and has also worked with emotionally disturbed children and adolescents at RICA (Regional Institute for Children and Adolescents).
Ms. Corkery is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology, and is nationally certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She maintains a current license from the Maryland Board of Examiners for Audiologists.
Ms. Corkery is happy to have rejoined the staff at ENT Specialists of Shady Grove, where she enjoys working with patients of all ages. She resides in Bethesda, Maryland with her husband and 5 young children.

On staff are 2 liscensed Audiologists with ASHA certification and are Fellows of the American Academy of Audiology. On site are two board certified Otolaryngologists who can provide medical clearance for hearing aids. We take the time to learn about your lifestyle and your individual needs. Hearing aids dispensed range from entry level to advanced levels of technology, and include a wide selection of styles. An expanded communication option includes wireless bluetooth connection with cell phones, TV and landline telephone.
