Our audiologists work closely with school systems and employers to ensure proper device utilization. Audiologists are available to consult with schools on classroom acoustics, seating arrangements and teaching strategies for dealing with students with hearing loss and assistive devices.
The UMass Memorial Hearing Improvement Center offers a full-service Hearing Aid Center for patients of all ages. Our hearing aid line is carefully selected from a variety of manufacturers and we offer state-of-the-art technology to maximize each patient’s potential benefit. Audiologists work with the individual patient to recommend amplification to fit personal needs and budget.

Assistive devices for both adults and children, such as FM systems, are also dispensed at our center. These devices amplify specific signals, like a teacher’s voice or the telephone, to improve speech understanding. They can be used with or without hearing aids.
