Using this information, we may recommend hearing aid demonstration and trial, a medical consult, or re-evaluation if your problem doesn’t warrant treatment. A hearing aid evaluation may include: Discussion of audiological test results, discussion of hearing aid brands and styles, ear impressions and demonstration of hearing aids programmed to fit your hearing loss. The hearing aid demonstration in the office is very valuable for a first time hearing aid user who has never heard through appropriately fitted amplification devices. Most people are amazed at how much better they can hear! If the hearing aids you try in the demonstration are so good that you would like to try them in your own life situations, you can make a deposit on that day and take them home for a no-risk trial. Hearing aid expectations: Hearing aids have come a long way since digital hearing aid technology was invented in 1996. The top manufacturers create new computer chips for their hearing aids every 2 years! The best and priciest technology is the newest whereas mid-priced technology may be 2 years old. Hearing Aid Program: After you have purchased hearing aids, you will be invited to have your hearing aid serviced and cleaned at no charge during the warranty period and for a small charge after your initial warranty has expired. Your hearing will be evaluated periodically to insure that the hearing aids are programmed according to current hearing test results.
