
In 1974, the Mollie E. Webb Speech and Hearing Center at Louisiana State University was established by the Caddo Foundation for Exceptional Children with funding from the Junior League of Shreveport, the United Way and other community agencies. The Center operates in the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences of LSU Health Sciences Center's School of Allied Health Professions.

The Mollie E. Webb Speech and Hearing Center at LSU offers hearing testing services by nationally-certified and state licensed audiologist for infants, children and adults of all ages. We hearing aids from several manufacturers in a variety of styles, including computer-programmed digital hearing aids.

Sharon Sanders is the Assistant Professor of Audiology. She earned both her BA in Speech Language Pathology and her MA in Audiology from Louisiana Tech University. She teaches courses to Audiology students. Her research interests are in the field of pediatric audiology with particular focus on hearing aids for children. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language Hearing Association and is licensed with Louisiana Board of Examiners for Speech Language Pathology and Audiology.
