Named among the Best Hospitals in America by USNews & World Report for five consecutive years, Clarian Health is the result of a cooperative effort of three downtown Indianapolis hospitals to combine resources, research, staff and administrative procedures for the greater benefit of our patients and the community at large. Methodist Hospital, Indiana University Hospital and Riley Hospital for Children — all preeminent, state-of-the-art hospitals with long and distinguished histories — united in 1997 under Clarian Health. Taking excellence in patient care, education and research to the next level, Clarian Health opened Clarian West Medical Center in 2004, followed by Clarian North Medical Center in 2005, and Lafayette's Clarian Arnett Hospital in Fall 2008. A private, nonprofit organization, Clarian owns or is affiliated more than 20 hospitals and health centers throughout Indiana and is closely tied to the Indiana University School of Medicine — more than half of the IU School of Medicine's 970 physicians practice, supervise, and teach residents and fellows at one of Clarian's hospitals. In addition, the research conducted through the IU School of Medicine leads to the breakthroughs that make a difference in the lives of Clarian's patients.
