Sarah Borer

AuD, FAAA

Dr. Sarah Borer was born and raised in Tiffin, Ohio. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences at Ohio University.  She received her Doctorate in Audiology at Central Michigan University.  She completed her residency at Dayton Ohio VA Medical Center.
Dr. Borer is a strong advocate of continuing education in her profession in order to stay current on available technologies and therapies that will benefit her patients.  She has interest in several areas of research.  Some of her work has been published in the journal of Noise and Health. 
Dr. Borer joined the staff at ENT Center in 2007 and has expertise in adult diagnostics, amplification, bone-anchored implants (BAI) and hearing protection.  Her broad clinical background allows her to provide a wide range of solutions for her patients. She is an active member of the American Academy of Audiology.

Jennie Eraci

AuD, FAAA

Dr. Jennie Eraci was born and raised in Park Ridge, IL. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Illinois State University and completed her Doctorate in Audiology at Northern Illinois University.  She is board certified by the American Board of Audiology and is a member of the American Academy of Audiology. 
Dr. Eraci joined the staff at ENT Center in 2014 after completing a successful residency with the practice. She has expertise in fitting and troubleshooting amplification, assessing patients with balance disorders, and evaluating/managing patients with tinnitus.

Tricia Heneghan

Dr. Tricia Heneghan earned her Bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing Science from the University of Iowa and obtained her Master’s in Audiology from Northern Illinois University. She completed her Doctorate in Audiology at Arizona School of Heath Sciences
Dr. Heneghan has 20 years of clinical experience as an audiologist.  She is knowledgeable in hearing aid technology and is particularly interested in hearing rehabilitation. Dr. Heneghan strives to provide the best customized solution to meet each patient’s individual hearing needs, and has expertise in the treatment of tinnitus.

Melanie Ludolph

AuD, CCC-A, FAAA

Dr. Melanie Ludolph was raised in Morton Grove, Illinois.  She completed her Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders and Master of Science in Audiology at Western Illinois University.  Dr. Ludolph earned her Doctorate in Audiology from Pennsylvania College of Optometry School of Audiology.  
Dr. Ludolph joined the Ear, Nose and Throat Center in 2001.  She is a member of the American Academy of Audiology and the American Speech-Language Hearing Association.  Her areas of expertise include diagnostics, adult amplification and hearing protection.  She strives to provide the best care and solutions for her patients hearing needs.  Dr. Ludolph also enjoys providing clinical supervision for audiology doctoral candidates.

David Tojo

MD, FACS

David P. Tojo, MD., a Cincinnati native, is the founder of The Ear, Nose and Throat Center.  He attended college at Northwestern University and medical school at University of Cincinnati College of Medicine where he was selected to membership in Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.  He completed internship and residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago Eye and Ear Infirmary and affiliated hospitals (Children’s Memorial Hospital, Cook County Hospital, West Side VA Medical Center and Michael Reese Hospital).  He pursued additional post-graduate training at the University of Zurich, Switzerland.  Between 1992 and 2000, Dr. Tojo served as a clinical instructor in head and neck surgery in the University of Illinois at Chicago’s Department of Otolaryngology.  He joined the staff at Lutheran General Hospital in 1992 where he has assumed numerous leadership positions.  Dr. Tojo has been selected as one of Chicago area’s “Top Doctors” by Castle Connolly Medical Guide and North Shore Magazine.
Dr. Tojo practices all aspects of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and has special expertise in the management of hearing loss and tinnitus, surgery of the thyroid and parathyroid glands, nasal and sinus issues, and surgery for skin cancer of the face, head, and neck. 
He is Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology.  He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, and a member of the American Thyroid Association.

Kevin Ziffra

MD

Kevin L. Ziffra, MD., a Chicago native, joined the Ear, Nose and Throat Center in 2001.  He attended college at Northwestern University and medical school at University of Illinois College of Medicine where he was selected to membership in Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.  He completed the Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago Eye and Ear Infirmary and affiliated hospitals (Children’s Memorial Hospital, Cook County Hospital and Michael Reese Hospital).  Before joining ENT Center, Dr. Ziffra served several Georgia communities, and was Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Dunwoody Medical Center and Emory Northlake Regional.  He was recognized by Atlanta Magazine as one of Atlanta’s “Top ENT Specialists.”
Dr. Ziffra practices all aspects of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and has special expertise in diseases of the salivary glands and sialoendoscopy. 
He is Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery.

Alexander Goldin

MD

Alexander D. Goldin, MD., a Chicagoland native, joined the Ear, Nose and Throat Center in 2002.  He attended college and medical school at Emory University where he was selected to membership in Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.  He completed the Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago Eye and Ear Infirmary and affiliated hospitals (Children’s Memorial Hospital, Cook County Hospital and Michael Reese Hospital).  He joined the staff at Lutheran General Hospital in 2002.

Michael Layland

MD

Michael K. Layland, MD., was raised in the Chicago suburbs and joined the Ear, Nose and Throat Center in 2004.  He attended college at Duke University and attended medical school at University of Illinois at Chicago where he was selected to membership in Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.  He completed the Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery residency at Washington University in St. Louis.  He joined the staff at Lutheran General Hospital in 2004.
Dr. Layland practices all aspects of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and has special expertise in medical and minimally invasive surgical treatment of sinus disease, treatment of tumors of the head and neck, salivary gland and thyroid gland diseases, hearing disorders and the treatment of snoring and sleep apnea.
He is Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery.

Sound Hearing Solutions is affiliated with The Ear Nose and Throat Center (ENTC).  At the ENTC, we recognize that your choice of physician and audiologist is driven both by the doctor’s competency and personality.  Our staff works together as a team to be sure we are responsive to your needs and keep you informed about your health issues.

Diagnostic Services:

  • Hearing Test - Hearing testing determines the type and degree of hearing impairment
  • Pressure Testing - Pressure testing is immittence testing to assess the function of the middle ear and eardrum
  • Subjective Head Noise (Tinnitus) Assessment - The subjective head noise (tinnitus) assessment utilizes pitch matching to help you better define your tinnitus, and is useful when counseling about strategies to address tinnitus.
  • Otoacoustic Emission Testing​ - Otoacoustic emission testing is the objective measure of peripheral hearing used in tinnitus assessments and difficult-to-test individuals.

Rehabilitative Services:

  • Hearing Aids - We offer a wide range of styles and technology levels to meet your listening needs and financial parameters.  See examples of hearing aid types, and overview of hearing aids.
  • Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs)​ - ALDs are technologies used to improve daily communication that can be utilized with our without hearing aids.
  • Swim Molds - Swim molds are ear protection for when swimming and can be useful for those who are prone to ear infections after swimming or have had tubes put in their ears.
  • Hearing Protection Devices - Protecting your ears from extreme or unwanted noise is central to maintaining your hearing health.  We offer general and custom hearing protection including:
