Audiologist

I became an Audiologist with a masters degree in 2002, & later began my doctorate. After another 4 years I earned my Doctorate of Audiology from Salus University in 2008.  I love what I do and I am excited to be able to practice my profession the way I feel it should.  I was raised in Arco, Idaho and married Amy Murdoch from Idaho Falls.  We have 6 children who keep our house full of life and activity.  After serving the Idaho Falls areas' needs in Audiology and Hearing aids since 2003 my wife and I decided that the needs of our family and patients would be better served by opening our own practice.  It has been an amazing journey with countless blessing mixed with lots of hard work, & our savings.

“Dr Parson noticed how I swivel around in class at church. One day he showed up at my house with his portable hearing testing kit. After discussing his findings, he said he would keep his eye out for discarded hearing aids that would fit my type of hearing loss. I moved out of his neighborhood, but a couple years later he called and said he had some hearing aids for me. I made an appointment at his office. He was prompt in keeping the appointment. He cleaned my ears then tested my hearing in the sound proof booth. He then adjusted the hearings aids to fit my hearing pattern needs. After putting the aids in my ears he made more adjustments based on my comments to what I heard. Over the years he has adjusted the hearing aids as they go out of calibration. Sometimes what I hear doesn’t seem to match what the machine thinks my hearing settings should be. He listens to my comments and doesn’t say the machine is right and I am wrong. I appreciate that. Dr. Parson and staff are very helpful, professional and kind.”

“Everyone was extremely helpful when I was diagnosed with Hyperacusis and found awesome filtered ear molds to help with the noise. I lost one of my ear molds a few weeks ago, I called and they were able to order another one. Just got it today and am so happy I can function outside my house again. I even got a lanyard so I don't lose them again!!”

“Had another appointment with Dr. Collins, and once again she was great. Spent time explaining some things to me about my hearing loss, and made the testing light hearted and not boring. Thank you.”

Bettering Relationships by Reducing the Impact of Hearing Loss

Our focus is on meeting the unmet needs of our hearing patients and focusing on what is truly important, bettering relationships through better hearing.  Hearing aids are currently sold by bundling all the costs into the initial price. We felt this was too expensive for patients, didn't promote best fit practices, and was often unfair to patients forcing them to pay for services they would never use. We have taken the mystery out of the cost of hearing aids by unbundling and itemizing our services.  We give you the option to only pay for services as you receive them.  If it is better for you to bundle and prepay for services, than we can do that as well.  By treating the communication problem by comprehensive testing of both the hearing system and the brain's ability to interpret sounds in quiet and noise, best fit hearing aid practices, and communication strategies we are able meet your hearing needs better.  Our business model forces us to be better, every visit.
