About Us

Audiology and Hearing Aid Services (AHAS) was founded in 1984 as a small department of Ear, Nose and Throat Associates of Savannah, headed at the time by Dr. Michael Zoller. The team has grown into a 5 physician practice; Dr. Michael Zoller, Dr. Fred Daniel, Dr. Stephen Rashleigh, Dr. William Moretz and Dr. Brad Rawlings, as well as physician assistant Michelle Yamada. Through the years, we have grown along with the changes in the hearing aid industry to become a well rounded, highly trained team to help better serve our patients. Audiology and Hearing Aid Services provides a full range of audiological services, the most up to date sophisticated hearing aid technology, and the latest advances in the hearing healthcare industry. Our team of Doctors of Audiology attend trainings around the world to provide the latest in hearing healthcare to better serve our patients AHAS consists of 3 Doctors of Audiology; Dr. Susan Timna, Dr. Katherine Neufeld, Dr. Cori Palmer, a Certified Audiology Assistant, Debra Troop, 2 Hearing Aid Technicians; Lauren Edwards and Lauren Smith, and support staff. Every patient has a unique set of demands on their hearing, lifestyle and budget. Our team of professionals help guide each patient to the hearing system that is individualized to meet all of these unique needs. All of our Doctors of Audiology are active members of the American Academy of Audiology, Academy of Doctors of Audiology and American Speech Language Hearing Association. For your convenience we have offices located in Savannah, Pooler, Statesboro, Richmond Hill, and Skidaway Island

Services

Audiology and Hearing Aid Services offers comprehensive diagnostic testing of all ages including: • Otoscopy (visualization of outer ear canal), Tympanometry and Acoustic Reflesxes(test of middle ear function), Distortion Product Otoacoustic Emissions (test of inner ear function), Pure Tone Air and Bone Conduction testing (behavioral testing of outer, middle and inner ear) Conditioned Play Audiometry (behavioral hearing test for children), COR Audiometry (behavioral hearing test for babies). Our staff and Doctors of Audiology will work individually which each patient to build a hearing system which will meet the unique needs of each patient. Our services with amplification include: • Personal consultation with a Doctor of Audiology • Communication Needs Assessment • Hearing aid selection and fitting • Aural rehabilitation • Verification testing • Hearing aid repairs and modifications • Convenient daily walk in ours for cleanings and repairs • Assistive technologies including: Bluetooth Technology and Telecoil Looping • LACE Program (Listening and Communication Enhancement) • BAHA (Bone Anchored Hearing Aid) evaluations and fittings • Tinnitus evaluations, consultations and management • Custom ear molds such as swim plugs, Musician plugs, Hunters’ ear plugs, noise protection.

Susan Timna

Au.D., CCC-A

Dr. Timna has been with Audiology and Hearing Aid Services since 1992 and is currently the director of the department. She is a native of Savannah and a graduate of Savannah Country Day School. Dr. Timna completed both her undergraduate decree and Masters Degree in Audiology at the University of Georgia. She received her Doctorate in Audiology through the Arizona School of Health Sciences. She is specially trained in the areas of tinnitus management. Dr. Timna heads up our Skidaway Island office.

Cori Palmer

Au.D., CCC-A

Dr. Palmer is a native of Tifton, Georgia. Dr. Palmer joined Audiology and Hearing Aid Services in 2008. She completed her undergraduate degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Georgia. She received her Doctorate degree in Audiology from the University of Louisville. Prior to joining the team at AHAS, Dr Palmer worked at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Palmer works in our main office and heads up the Statesboro office and Pooler office.

Katherine Neufeld

Au.D., CCC-A

Dr. Neufeld is a native of Richmond, VA. She completed both her Undergraduate Degree and Masters Degree in Audiology at The Ohio State University. She received her Doctorate in Audiology from the Arizona School of Health Sciences. Prior to joining AHAS, Dr. Neufeld worked at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in California. Dr. Neufeld had been with Audiology and Hearing Aid Services since 2005. Dr. Neufeld works in the main office and heads up the Richmond Hill office.
