Dana Libman
Au.D., CCC-A, FAAA
Dr. Dana Libman is an Assistant Professor, Clinical Audiologist at the University of Miami Ear Institute. She received her bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in communication sciences and disorders at the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia and her clinical doctorate degree (Au.D.) in audiology at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. She is licensed to practice in the state of Florida and is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology. Dr. Libman specializes in audiologic diagnostics, hearing aids, and hearing conservation with musicians and the general public. She is a frequent contributor to our Q-Tips Hearing Aid program, providing information to new and experienced hearing aid users. She is also interested in research in the area of protecting the ear from cisplatin chemotherapy and other ototoxic medications.

Tricia Sheehan
Au.D., CCC-A, FAAA
Dr. Sheehan specializes in audiologic diagnostics, auditory evoked potentials, vestibular evaluations as well as tinnitus and sound sensitivity evaluations. She is the current director of the Tinnitus Clinic, a program that she assisted with the co-development and implementation of. Dr. Sheehan additionally developed the “Q-Tips” Aural Rehabilitation e-mail program with the assistance of Dr. Dana Libman. This program distributes hearing aid tips through e-mail patient participants on a monthly basis and is aimed to increase hearing aid user’s satisfaction with their devices and to reduce unnecessary visits into the office.

Adam Norris
Au.D.
Dr. Norris has been working for the University of Miami Ear institute for 8 years. He started as a master level audiologist working with diagnostics and hearings aids. He received his AuD three years later and has been working with the cochlear implant team for the last 4years. His educational background includes bachelors in communication disorders from University of South Florida, masters from Lamar University, and doctorate from University of Florida. He also works with the residents program at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Sandra Velandia
Au.D., CCC-A, FAAA
Dr. Velandia’s professional efforts include(d) areas such as, speech- language therapy, general diagnostic audiology, occupational audiology, hearing aids, vestibular and cochlear implants for children and adults. Currently, she focuses in the vestibular and cochlear implant disciplines on the University of Miami’s medical campus, clinically and in research.

Hillary Snapp
Au.D.
Dr. Snapp's primary teaching responsibilities are in the clinical education of audiology doctoral candidates, and overseeing the clinical education program of AuD students for the Division of Audiology. Her clinical and research interests include vestibular diagnostics, dizziness and balance disorders, electrophysiology, bone anchored and middle ear implantable hearing devices. Dr. Snapp has lectured both nationally and internationally on these topics

Diane Martinez
Au.D., FAAA
Her responsibilities within the audiology team include: adult and pediatric audiometry, electrophysiological testing, cochlear implant candidacy determination evaluation for adults and children, cochlear implant programming, guidance towards aural (re)habilitation, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team of the Barton G. cochlear implant family resource center.

Myriam De La Asuncion

Her clinical interests are pediatric cochlear implants, habilitation, training, and research. She has an interest in therapy and eventually pursuing certification for Listening and Spoken Language Specialist. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and her Doctorate in Audiology from the University of Florida. She has a Certificate of Clinical Competence in audiology from the American Speech and Hearing Association.

Jussara Silva

Dr. Silva has extensive experience in the field, and has successfully developed a Universal Hearing Screening Program in two large hospitals chains. She specialized in the electrophysiological evaluation of newborn and difficult to test children and adults. Her main interest is the assessment and rehabilitation of children with Auditory Processing Dysfunction.

Jennifer Maceda received her Doctor of Audiology from Rush University in Chicago, IL. She completed her externship at the Mailman Center for Child Development. Dr. Maceda specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of hearing loss in the pediatric population.

Audiology & Hearing Evaluations
The Division of Audiology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is a state-of-the-art evaluation and treatment center for patients of all ages who may be experiencing hearing and/or balance difficulties. It is staffed by audiologists who are trained in the evaluation and non-medical rehabilitation of hearing and balance disorders.
