Dr. Erica Friedland is the Chair of the Audiology program at Nova SouthEastern University and oversees the Audiology Clinic and the audiology team. She earned her master’s degree from Vanderbilt University and her doctoral degree from Nova Southeastern University. Her specialty area is pediatrics and her professional research doctoral project developed and implemented an auditory processing evaluation protocol in children. Dr. Friedland has been at NSU for over 13 years and primary responsibilities include administration of the Department its programs.

The purpose of identifying newborns with hearing loss is to prevent or minimize the effects of hearing loss on language development, academic performance, and cognitive development through early intervention services.
