Christopher Schweitzer, Ph.D., F-AAA (Board Certified Senior Audiologist) has a long background in technical and clinical research resulting in numerous patents and improved methods of amplification. He has worked on projects in Europe, Asia, Africa and the U.S. Since his own hearing was damaged in military service, Family Hearing is naturally Veteran-Friendly. In addition to teaching in several graduate audiology programs, Dr. Schweitzer has published and lectured widely, and he continues to serve on national and international standards committees. He and his wife, Karima, have sought to nurture a rich balance of personal caring and technical expertise in the Family Hearing Center culture.
Karima Thobani, BC-HIS (Board-Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist) is co-owner and President, with 35+ years of experience in solving hearing challenges have made her highly-appreciated by many Boulder area consumers. She studied Early Childhood Education in London before pursuing a career in the hearing profession. Competent in six languages, but most importantly fluent in the language of personalized hearing assistance, Karima is a long time member of the International Hearing Society. A hearing aid user for many years herself, she has served on the Board of Directors of the Colorado Hearing Society. Her passion for learning and service is contagious.
Jennifer LaBorde, B.A., BC-HIS (Board-Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist) & Assistant General Manager has completed her Bachelor’s degree in Speech Language and Hearing Sciences, with a minor in Linguistics at the University of Colorado. Well-versed in American Sign Language, Jennifer has worked in the hearing care profession since 2002, and at Family Hearing since May of 2005. Boulder office clients applaud her cheerful competence and know her as a special asset in a profession dedicated to service & support.
Alison J. Seiler, B.A., BC-HIS (Board-Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist) earned her B.A. in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She volunteered at the CU Speech & Hearing Center while attending CU, and has worked at Family Hearing Center since January of 2011. A native of Colorado Springs, she spends much of her free time skiing in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. A consummate professional, Alison is also a competitive tennis player and thoroughly enjoys helping individuals hear the world around them with greater clarity.
Chelsea D. Walters, B.S., BC-HIS (Board-Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist) graduated from the University of Northern Colorado’s Audiology & Speech program in 2008. She has worked in the hearing profession for the past several years in Colorado and New Mexico before joining our family of Hearing Care Professionals. Chelsea enjoys music, hiking & camping. She has a deep love of people, and an unmistakable laugh. Charming, passionate, and immensely competent, Chelsea Manages the Broomfield office.
Deborah Gooding is our Patient Care Coordinator based in the Lafayette office. Originally from Illinois, Deborah lives in Lafayette. She has extensive office management experience in numerous professional positions. We know you’ll appreciate Deborah’s personal care and cheerful attention in scheduling and assorted service offerings to our guests.
Brittany Masters, A.A. (Audiologist Assistant) & Patient Care Coordinator is the lovable anchor of the Broomfield office. A Colorado native, Brittany has attained her Audiology Assistant credentials from Nova Southeastern University in Florida and is working towards becoming a Licensed Hearing professional. Brittany’s bright smile and gentle manner is exactly the kind of person to make you feel comfortable, welcome, and well-cared for at the award-winning Family Hearing Center. She enjoys spending time with her son Kaleb, has a close knit relationship with her family (which includes all of their animals), and be careful not to mention that you like any other team besides the Broncos!
Kristin Dugger, B.S. Patient Care Coordinator after many years excelling in corporate management positions, Kristin’s love for helping others called her to the hearing care profession. She thrives on pushing herself to learn new skills, and currently pursues Board Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences. Kristin exemplifies a compassionate dedication consistent with the Family Hearing Center legacy. A Wisconsin native, four teenagers and Marley, the beagle, keep Kristin busy at home.
