Mr. Smith is a speech-language pathologist certified with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. He has holds Board Certification as a Hearing Instrument Specialist through the National Board for Certification of Hearing Instrument Specialists. He is registered hearing aid provider in the State of Colorado. He earned a BA degree from University of Louisiana at Monroe, LA (previously Northeast Louisiana University). He earned an M.Ed. from McNeese State University. He also has completed post-graduate coursework through University of Colorado at Boulder. He is as devoted to his profession and community as he is to his patients. Smith says, "I have the best job in the world. Through Lakewood Hearing & Speech Center, I help people overcome difficulites they've encountered with communication and hearing problems." "The three biggest problems they encounter are: frustration, embarrassment, and a slow withdrawal form social situations. These problems not only affect them, but they affect their family and friends," states Smith. "With the options we have available, we see people make life changing transformations for improved and easier communication," says Smith. Smith is also author of the book About Hearing Aids and Hearing Loss: Answers to 101 Questions (1991). He has also authored articles for professional publications. He has contributed to the hearing health of the community, as well, through his volunteer efforts in hearing screenings and free educational seminars to the community. He is a post board member and past president of the Developmental Disabilities Resource Center and a member of other community based organizations. He is a member of the Arapahoe Sertoma Club.
