Audiologist, Dr. Darcy Benson, owner of the California Hearing Center, brings a dedication to the field of hearing care that stretches far beyond her practice. She received her undergraduate training in Audiology at the University of California, Santa Barbara, a Master’s Degree in Communication Disorders at Colorado State University, and most recently her Doctor of Audiology degree at Salus University in Pennsylvania. She was the former Director of Audiology for the California Ear Institute in Palo Alto, CA and did clinical research at ReSound Corp. in Redwood City. Dr. Benson has been a consultant for a variety of hearing aid manufacturers, carrying out research on new technology and fitting systems. As a member of the board of directors of the California Academy of Audiology, she helped advocate for the needs of the hard of hearing in the state. She is board certified by the American Board of Audiology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology, the Academy of Dispensing Audiologists and the California Academy of Audiology. Dr. Benson's research has been published numerous times in professional journals and she has contributed to textbooks currently in use in audiology training programs. As a native of the Peninsula, she is dedicated to the hearing health needs of the community.
Ramsay Poindexter, senior staff audiologist, has been enthusiastically serving the needs of the hearing impaired for over seven years. She became interested in the field of audiology as her grandmother was deaf. She was formerly on the audiology staff at the University of California, San Francisco where she worked with both a pediatric and adult population. Ramsay has specialty training in intra-operative monitoring for a variety of surgical specialties. She is a Fellow and member of the American Academy of Audiology and the California Academy of Audiology.
