Jane Baxter

Dr. Baxter joined Pacific Hearing Service as a co-owner in 1986 and manages our Menlo Park office as well as providing audiology services. She has a clinical doctorate in audiology (Au.D.) from Salus University, a master's degree from San Francisco State and a teaching credential from UC Berkeley. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and is certified by the American Board of Audiology. After working as a teacher of hearing-impaired children, Jane changed her focus to audiology and worked as a research audiologist at the VA Medical Center in Martinez, CA. Prior to joining Pacific Hearing Service, she worked at Stanford Medical Center performing clinical audiology and research.

Jane has made important contributions to the field of audiology through publications and presentations at professional meetings including authoring a chapter for a textbook about establishing a private audiology practice. She was one of the founders of the California Academy of Audiology and served as its treasurer. Jane has also been a consultant for multiple startups and major hearing aid manufacturers including Widex, Starkey, ReSound, Phonak, Oticon, SonicInnovations, Sound ID and EarLens.

Jane is part of a long line of professionals dedicated to the needs of those with hearing impairment. Her grandfather, Frank Baxter, M.D., was the first Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat physician in the East Bay. Many people in the community remember her father, William Baxter, M.D., who retired from his Ear, Nose and Throat practice in Los Altos in 1998. Her daughter, Dr. Ariel Fruendt, joined the audiology profession in 2013 and practices in the Chicago area.

Peg Lisi

Dr. Lisi joined Pacific Hearing Service in January 2007. She obtained her master’s degree in audiology from San Francisco State, where she received the Distinguished Achievement Award for Academic Excellence. She earned her clinical doctorate degree in audiology from the University of Florida in 2008.  She is certified by the American Board of Audiology, is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology, and has researched music-related hearing loss and its secondary effects.

Peg is passionate about the counseling aspect of working with her clients. She leads the amplification workshops in the Menlo Park office where she says she learns almost as much from her patients as they do from her.

In addition to being an audiologist, Dr Lisi is a trained musician and singer. She has sung with regional opera houses and orchestras throughout the Unites States and is currently a professional member of the San Francisco Symphony Chorus. Because of her musical background, she brings to her practice a unique perspective on fitting hearing aids on musicians and music lovers alike.
