Los Gatos Audiology and Hearing Aid Center is proud to provide exceptional audiological care to our patients in Los Gatos, the Bay Area, and beyond. By offering the latest technologies in hearing aids and utilizing cutting-edge instrumentation, we have become the most trusted provider of hearing improvement services. Furthermore, we serve as a testing site for brand-new technologies and products. We have based our practice around a patient-oriented philosophy, as we believe that by taking your lifestyle, hearing loss, and perceptions into consideration, we will obtain the optimal hearing aid fitting for you. Each member of our staff is well versed about hearing loss, creating a comfortable and stress-free atmosphere.
Comprehensive Audiometry Testing
After the review of your hearing background, Ellen will perform a complete diagnostic hearing test, also known as audiometry testing. Audiometry testing at the Los Gatos Audiology and Hearing Aid Center consists of multiple tests to ensure precise and accurate results:
The data indicating which sounds you are able and unable to hear are compiled to create a personal hearing profile. Also known as an audiogram, the profile will allow the audiologist to identify and diagnose the particular type of hearing loss you have with accuracy.
Selecting the Appropriate Hearing Aid
The audiogram records the type of hearing loss you have, and this, coupled with your individual life-style preferences, determine which technology and style of hearing aid will be optimal for your hearing loss and listening environments.
Fitting the Hearing Aid
When you receive your hearing aids, we will make sure that you understand how to use and maintain them properly. We will use your audiogram, your personal input, and a real-time analyzer system to make necessary adjustments to optimize the performance of the hearing aids. The real-time analyzer/probe microphone system provides a real-time display of the amplification that the hearing aid is producing in your ear canal. Since each person's ear canal amplifies sound differently, the measurements taken by this system are the only objective means of determining if the amplification of the hearing aid is appropriate. This ensures that your fitting is scientifically correct, accurate, and appropriate.
Even after you have been fitted with the hearing aids and are satisfied with the results, Ellen Mosher and the staff at the Los Gatos Audiology and Hearing Aid Center are committed to providing follow-up care. We will check the performance and condition of your hearing aids several times each year to make sure you are receiving the full benefits of living with hearing aids.
