Siemens Innovative DirectEar' Set 810 Infrared Listening System Provides Crystal Clear Sound for Home Entertainment

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Siemens Hearing Solutions announces a new addition to its line of Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs), DirectEar' Set 810, a new, advanced infrared television listening system. Developed to improve and enhance the experience of home television entertainment for individuals with hearing loss, the DirectEar Set 810 enables them to hear the television more clearly and comfortably without disturbing others. The Set 810 is also ideal for those individuals with and without hearing loss while using exercise equipment or private listening. Easy to use, the Set 810 comes with a lightweight comfortable headset receiver and a transmitter with a mono to stereo switch.

"Hearing the television is a major problem for individuals with hearing loss. The volume is usually set too high and disturbs others in the room," comments Debra Fuller, ALD Product Manager. "The Siemens DirectEar Set 810 provides an affordable and practical solution for this problem. Individuals with hearing loss and their loved ones can all enjoy watching television in the same room at a volume that's comfortable for everyone."

The new Siemens DirectEar Set 810 features a transmitter with mono to stereo option, enabling users to easily choose the appropriate setting for various listening needs. The transmitter can be attached to a TV, VCR, or other electronic sound source via RCA jacks or an accessory microphone. It converts sound from the television into invisible infrared light and transmits it throughout the room. The lightweight headset receiver worn by the listener then picks up the infrared signals and converts it back into crystal clear sound, without background noise, directly to the listener's ears.

The transmitter also serves as the battery charger and features a cradle charging port that can speed-charge batteries in just 4 hours. Plus, there is an additional trickle charging port for storing and charging spare batteries. Once the battery is completely charged on the cradle charging port, it automatically converts to a trickle charger to maintain the charge until it is ready to be used.

Ergonomically designed, the adjustable headset features a large, easy-to-read volume control that gives up to 125dB SPL and automatically turns off when not in use to save battery life. Hearing Health Care Professionals can customize each unit to the individual's listening preferences via hidden potentiometers with complete volume control and low frequency roll off. Hearing Professionals can also adjust the tension of the headset earbows so that it fits comfortably on the patients. Automatic gain control can also be activated via the transmitter to attenuate sudden, sharp sounds that can be uncomfortable for some patients.

The Siemens DirectEar Set 810 is a great choice for television listening comfort for both patients AND their families! Call a Siemens Sales Representative at (800) 333-9083 right away to find out how to give patients at-home entertainment enjoyment today!
