FCC Releases Public Notice Requesting Comments on Proposed Telephone Relay System Mandate

November 14, 2005 The FCC released a notice requesting comments on a petition for a rulemaking to require captioned telephone relay service and internet telephone relay service. This petition was filed by a group of 13 organizations including Self Help for Hard of Hearing, Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, American Academy of Audiology, American Association of People with Disabilities, American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, Association of Late-Deafened Adults, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Consumer Advocacy Network, League for the Hard of Hearing, National Association of the Deaf, National Cued Speech Association, Telecommunication for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Inc., California Association of the Deaf, and the California Coalition of Agencies Serving the Deaf and Hard Hearing.

Comments are due 30 days after the publication in the Federal Register.
