MarkeTrak survey, which reports on trends in hearing loss, hearing aids and hearing health in America, released a comprehensive insight covering the past 25 years.
The most recent findings show (among other relevant information) an increase in the number of Americans reporting hearing loss (due primarily to the aging of the population), as well as a relatively low percentage of hearing impaired people who use hearing aids - 4 in 10 people with moderate to severe hearing loss and only 1 in 10 people with mild hearing loss.
Such high prevalence of untreated hearing loss is due mainly to the high cost of hearing aid prices, which are not covered by either Medicare of most private insurance plans.
