American Academy of Audiology Offers Free Hearing and Dizziness Seminar to DC Area Residents

(Reston, VA -- March 15, 2005) - The American Academy of Audiology will offer a free seminar on hearing loss and balance disorders to local residents of the Washington, DC area. This marks the fourth year that the Academy has presented a full morning workshop on hearing loss to consumers coinciding with the Academys Annual Convention and Expo. Consumers and members of the press are invited to attend the workshop on Saturday, April 2 from 9:00 am until noon at the Renaissance Hotel, 999 Ninth Street, NW in Congressional Ballroom A and B. A panel of prominent local audiologists will be on hand to guide a series of four mini presentations plus an Ask the Expert question and answer session. This years topics include: Assistive Listening Devices in Everyday Living presented by Cindy Compton, PhD; Hearing Aids on the Internet: Is this an Option for You? presented by Teri Cygnarowicz, MS and Ruth Marin, MA; Reducing Noise Exposure in Everyday Activities presented by COL John Allen, PhD; Balance and Dizziness Issues presented by Holly Burrows, AuD; and concludes with an open question and answer session with all of our speakers.

Convention 2005 is the premier event for audiologists and the hearing health industry. Attendees can expect to preview the newest technologies, gather information on ground-breaking discoveries, and learn about state-of-the-art procedures for diagnosing and treating hearing loss and balance disorders. This year, Convention 2005 will provide a variety of Instructional Courses, Featured Sessions as well as Pre-Convention Workshops and special events to highlight all that Washington, DC has to offer.
