William F. Austin, head of the Starkey Hearing Foundation and Starkey Laboratories, as well as one of the leading philanthropists in the world, was honored with a Doctor of Laws degree by Pepperdine University at its annual commencement ceremony on July 8th at its Malibu campus. Additionally, Austin gave the keynote address at the Graduate School of Education and Psychology Education Division graduation ceremonies to resounding applause.
After launching the company in his basement in 1967, Starkey www.starkey.com quickly grew leading to the establishment of the Starkey Hearing Foundation www.sotheworldmayhear.org which has given way more than 150,000 hearing aids to the needy around the world.
