This gives the main character a purpose in life working on behalf of those with hearing loss and other disabilities. The film stars Ron Livingstone, Rebecca De Mornay, Michael Sheen and other well-know Hollywood figures. The film has already won several film festival awards before its even been released to the public.
Richard Pimentel has worked tirelessly for a number of causes. He is considered one of the foremost experts on the Americans with Disabilities Act and is often consulted in cases involving this statute. Hes also become an expert in job recruitment and retention and attitude change, making him an in-demand public speaker. Why? Well, in addition to his exceptional ability to communicate using humor, analogy and good old story-telling, hes been there. He can speak to mainstream audiences from a perspective that only he can bring to his speeches.
A man who was severely injured in war, separated and having a difficult time adjusting to his hearing loss, Richard Pimentel turned his life around when outfitted with a pair of Starkey hearing devices and, today, he has become one of the strongest advocates for Americans with Disabilities there is.
In addition to his public speaking and other advocacy work, this amazing man has also found time to write several books on working, working conditions for the mentally ill, work stress and other employment-related topics.
The film shows how a man can turn around his life and completely change his attitude when he has a just cause to support. Having experienced hearing loss and suffered through the isolation and depression that often come hand-in-hand with a sudden loss of a sense, Richard Pimentel is living proof of the benefits of hearing devices in bringing normalcy back to daily life and in enabling those drivven to make the world a better place to do just that.
