Beltone Celebrates 70th Anniversary

Beltone held its 2010 National Meeting at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Towers in Chicago, Illinois, June 10 - June 12. The annual meeting, themed "True Blue" was attended by more than 900 members of Beltone's US dispenser network, as well as international guests representing over 16 countries and 50 guests from New Japan Hearing.

Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley was on hand to officially welcome attendees to Chicago and also congratulated Beltone on their 70th year in business. He was joined by other nationally recognized Chicago celebrities, including Mike Ditka and actor Joe Mantegna, who shared their personal congratulations via pre-taped video vignettes.

The highlight of the meeting was the introduction of the Beltone True™, a new generation of virtually invisible, Blue tooth-compatible hearing instruments that wirelessly receive sound directly from TV, cell/home phone, stereo, PC and iPod, via a 2.4 GHz signal. According to Beltone, the new True features the world's smallest receiver-in-the-ear instrument.

Attendees also had the opportunity to visit Beltone's Technology Center that showcased the company's proprietary products, technology, office management systems and other tools to enhance office productivity. The centerpiece of the Technology Center was the Concept Office;a life-size model of an ideal Beltone office, complete with a reception area and two fitting suites. The model provided dispensers with many ideas for color, design and furniture in their own offices.

Beltone President Todd Murray congratulated all of the company's network members for their remarkable achievements. Performance awards were presented to top practitioners from its offices internationally and throughout the U.S. Beltone presented its prestigious President's Cup award to William McCrae of San Antonio, Texas, for his exceptional patient care, community involvement and professional business practices.

"This award recognizes those practitioners whose professionalism and care go well beyond their office and into the community," says Murray. "William's leadership and dedication is the ultimate example of this and he continues to find unique ways to give back to his community."

Each year hearing care practitioners from around the world gather at Beltone's National Meeting to share ideas, participate in educational seminars on new technologies, and learn about the company's latest products and services.
