Starkey Laboratories Enhances Products Through BluWave™ Signal Processing

Starkey Laboratories, Inc., one of the worlds leading hearing technology companies, has announced enhancements to its products thanks to BluWaveTM Signal Processing (SP). The proprietary system gives Starkey the flexibility to make evidence-based enhancements to products, which in turn improve the patient experience. This falls enhancements include the introduction of the ZonTM XM 50 receiver, providing 50 dB of gain, and the ability to use Integrated Real Ear Measurement (IREM) in most Starkey devices.

Similar to an operating system that runs on your computer, BluWave SP coordinates multiple complex systems, processes system data and manages inputs. It then allocates resources to efficiently and accurately control output parameters, resulting in patients experiencing clarity in noise, virtually zero feedback and high-resolution sound imaging.

BluWave SP allowed for the addition of the Zon XM 50, which offers unprecedented usable high-frequency gain paired with Starkeys revolutionary feedback system (AFI), giving patients significantly improved sound quality and speech audibility. For hearing professionals, Zon provides the widest fitting range available in any receiver-in-canal hearing aid. In addition, Starkey offers custom-fit ear molds, allowing for a more comfortable fit.

This falls enhancements also extend IREM to nearly all Zon and Destiny hearing aids. IREM allows hearing professionals to quickly and accurately conduct real-ear measurement, providing the most precise fit possible. The system helps professionals counsel patients, reducing the number of adjustments needed for a comfortable fit and better addressing the challenges hearing aid users are facing in their environments.
