The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Announces Specialty Care Center in Atlantic County

World-Class Medical Capabilities of The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Further Expanded to New Jersey Families

PHILADELPHIA /PRNewswire/ -- The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia announces plans to expand its world-renowned pediatric specialty healthcare services in Atlantic County, NJ. The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Specialty Care Center in Atlantic County, located in Mays Landing, NJ, will consolidate services currently offered at three existing sites into one, convenient, accessible location.

The new 18,865-sq.-foot facility will be located at 4009 Black Horse Pike, Mays Landing, NJ, currently the site of Tom's Garden and Christmas Wonderland. The Specialty Care Center in Atlantic County will consolidate and expand services currently offered at three existing sites including: The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Specialty Care Office in Linwood, and two Atlantic City facilities that house the Children's Seashore House Child Development Center and Emotional Behavioral Day Program. The Specialty Care Center is expected to open in late 2003, pending necessary approvals.

Altschuler, M.D., president and chief executive officer of The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. "Specialists from the main campus rotate to our Specialty Care Centers so that their expertise is even more readily accessible to the families we serve."

The main building is situated on 9 acres of land, and will house 12 pediatric subspecialties by approximately 14 physicians from The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
